Biography
Georgia Watermeyer is an Analytical Scientist in the Fluxomics centre at the Heart Research Institute. Georgia undertook her tertiary studies at the University of Auckland, where she was awarded first class honours for her Masters in Biological Science, focusing on mesenchymal stromal cells and beige adipose progenitor heterogeneity. She worked for Auckland Cytometry as an Assistant Technologist, where she aided in post viral research and clinical trials using Flow Cytometry.
In 2023, Georgia joined Dr Sergey Tumanov in the Fluxomics centre as a New Zealand pathways Research Assistant, where she has since been involved in multiple projects utilising mass spectrometry techniques to both quantify and discover the molecular mechanisms underlying disease and drug treatments. In 2025, she progressed to Analytical Scientist, where she combines a multi-omics approach to understand the complexities of various cardiovascular diseases for the Fluxomics centre.
