Biography
Uncle Dr Joe Perry is a Worimi man who grew up in the Karuah community in Port Stephens. He is a respected educator having spent 30 years working in Higher Education, primarily at the University of Newcastle where he completed his PhD in Aboriginal Studies and History at the Wollotuka Institute where he documented the histories of the Karuah Aboriginal community. He is committed to ongoing research in Aboriginal history and education and has a continuing interest in the ongoing development of Aboriginal pedagogies.
