Biography
Alan is currently the Independent Chairman of Islington and Central Bedfordshire Safeguarding Children Boards, a role that sees him coordinate the efforts of all the agencies represented on the Board to achieve effective safeguarding, and to ensure that children and young people are being successfully protected within the wider partnership.
In 2012 Alan was awarded an OBE by Her Majesty the Queen, for his services to policing. Alan is also a Local Government Association peer reviewer and the independent chair of the North London Sector Steering Group, which is implementing the findings of a Child Sexual Abuse review and developing the concept of the ‘Child House’ across London.
