At the Heart Research Institute, our goal is to reduce the number of people who die from heart disease and to offer a better life for those already suffering from the disease by understanding the underlying biological processes.
Each of the various scientific groups at the Heart Research Institute conducts research into a specific aspect of cardiovascular disease.
Professor Ben Freedman is currently Director External Affairs at the Heart Research Institute, Charles Perkins Centre and Group Leader of the Heart Rhythm and Stroke Prevention Group. He is Honorary Professor of Cardiology at The University of Sydney and former head of Department of Cardiology, Concord Hospital.
